Drug and alcohol addiction create many problems for the workforce in the United States. Almost three-fourths of the current drug users between the ages of 18 and 49 have a part-time or full-time job. This makes up a total of 8.3 million individuals. The economic costs of substance abuse to society totals around $300 billion each year.
